The Watch

Iconic Japanese watchmaker Casio unveils its latest Casio G-Shock release: the G-Squad Utility Color GBA-900UU-5AER. Built for athletes - especially swimmers and divers - it meets ISO 22810 standards with a water resistance of 20 atmospheres, or 200 meters. With dimensions of 45.50 mm wide, 48.60 mm tall, and 11.90 mm thick, it's perfectly sized for men's wrists. Casio engineered this watch for maximum durability: the case is crafted from carbon fiber-reinforced resin, while a mineral crystal shields the dial from wear. Four pushers - two on each side of the dial - make every function quick to access. The caseback is secured with screws.

The Dial

Right away, you'll notice this watch's dial features dual displays. With its round shape and black background, the dial packs in a host of functions you'll use every day. You can also connect your phone via Bluetooth to unlock even more features. For visibility in any light, Super-Auto LED light illuminates the dial so you can read it even in complete darkness. The first display is a classic analog layout: two hands sweep around to show hours and minutes, pointing to twelve subtly dark stick indexes. A minute track between the indexes makes reading the time even easier. Across the entire lower half of the dial, a digital display shows multiple functions. A subdial at 10 o'clock houses the Bluetooth indicator along with other features. Finally, the brand signs its creation at 3 o'clock.

The Functions

- Bluetooth® Smart: the watch is equipped with energy-efficient Bluetooth® technology, enabling data exchange at the press of a button. Bluetooth® wirelessly connects the watch to your smartphone, unlocking a wide range of practical features.

- Smartphone time: when the watch is paired with a smartphone, the time is set automatically and always shows the current local time anywhere in the world.

- Super-Auto LED Light: when ambient light drops, a flick of the wrist floods the dial with a powerful, colorful glow.

- Shock Resistance: the shock-resistant structure protects the watch against impacts and vibrations.

- Step Counter: the watch tracks your total step count.

- Lifelog Function

- Second Time Zone: a second local time can be set and accessed at a glance - ideal if you regularly call overseas, for example.

- Stopwatch 1/100 sec - 24 hours: measures elapsed time to 1/100th of a second over a maximum duration of 24 hours. An audible signal confirms the start and stop of the stopwatch.

- 50-Lap Memory: stores lap times, split times, and elapsed times with date stamps for later review. Each data set includes: date, elapsed time, lap time, and split times. The memory can hold up to 50 such data sets.

- 5 Countdown Timers - 1/1 sec - 60 minutes (with auto-repeat function): this model features five independent countdown timers that sound an alert when the set time elapses, then automatically restart from the preset time. Measurement capacity reaches up to 60 minutes and can be adjusted in 1-second increments.

- 5 Daily Alarms: an audible alarm reminds you of your commitments every day at the set time. This model features five independent alarms, giving you the flexibility to stay on top of all your important appointments.

- Button Beep On/Off: the button beep can be muted using the mode button. Once disabled, no beep sounds when cycling through functions. However, any programmed alarms or countdown timers remain active after the button beep is turned off.

- Hand Shift Function: moves the hands out of the way when they obstruct the time, date, or stopwatch display.

- Find My Phone: misplaced your smartphone? Just press a button on the watch to trigger an alert on your phone.

- Incoming Call Indicator: whenever you receive a call on your smartphone, a notification appears on the watch.

- Auto Calendar: once set, the auto calendar always displays the correct date automatically.

- 12/24-Hour Time Format: switch between 12-hour and 24-hour display modes.

The Movement

This watch runs on a quartz movement. The battery provides power for 2 years. Thanks to this movement, both display types on the dial animate with fluid reliability.

The Bracelet

The brand carefully selected the strap to complement this watch. For this model, it had to be tough enough for sport yet comfortable enough not to restrict movement. The choice: a light brown resin strap, secured with a classic pin buckle.

Water Resistance

This model offers a water resistance of 20 atmospheres, or 200 meters - making it a true aquatic companion. It's rated for freediving! And with this watch on your wrist, you can even handle high-pressure water cleaners without worry. Showers, baths, sport swimming, and freediving are all fair game. For scuba diving with tanks, however, we recommend a higher water resistance rating. One final reminder: never operate the crown or pushers during water immersion, to protect the integrity of the movement.
