The Watch

Founded in 1858, Vulcain crafts high-quality mechanical timepieces that are as precise as they are timeless. Backed by generations of ancestral expertise, the Swiss manufacture has developed a rich and varied collection - including the iconic Cricket President watch. A landmark in horological history as the world's first mass-market alarm watch at its launch in 1947, and the preferred choice of American presidents, it returns this winter as a limited edition of 100 pieces. Emblematic as ever, it is presented with a contemporary edge while retaining its classic retro appeal. The round case delivers a refined, elegant, and distinctive design that stays true to Vulcain tradition. Crafted in 316L stainless steel, it features a beautiful polished finish across all surfaces, while the bezel and case back display a contrasting satin effect. The case measures 39 mm in diameter, satisfying vintage watch lovers regardless of wrist size. On top sits a sapphire crystal with an anti-reflective coating for optimal dial legibility. Its domed profile reinforces the classic character of this timepiece while offering superior scratch protection. On the right side of the case, a robust crown with deep knurling provides excellent grip for easy winding and time-setting. The top of the crown is adorned with a simple waffle-patterned motif that enhances the timepiece's sophisticated look. At 2 o'clock sits a single pump-style pusher for alarm adjustment. The case back is available in two versions - selectable via the dropdown menu - offering your choice of a solid screw-in back or a back with a transparent sapphire crystal window, giving you a clear view of the movement's beauty within. A stylized "V"-shaped bar is affixed to the top to represent the brand's name. Both case back options ensure water resistance to 5 ATM.

The Dial

The dial is a perfect blend of tradition, innovation, and craftsmanship. Semi-matte, it delivers a captivating vintage look with a simple yet subtly refined layout. It features a pale salmon tone paired with applied baton indexes in silver, lending the dial an irresistibly elegant character. The silver-toned dauphine hands for hours and minutes are complemented by a classic slim seconds hand and a 4th hand for the alarm, tipped with a grey arrow point. The alarm scale is simplified using the numerals 10, 30, and 50. It is joined by a minute track with black markers - and to complete the picture, the brand signs the dial just below 12 o'clock in a stylized typeface, underscored by the Vulcain "V" and the "Cricket" signature. The "Swiss Made" inscription at 6 o'clock is a proud reminder of where this watch was made.

The Movement

This watch is powered by the Cricket manufacture caliber V-10, a mechanical hand-wound movement. It offers hours, minutes, seconds, and the signature alarm complication - which rings loud and clear for a full 20 seconds. The movement comprises 165 components, including 25 rubies, an Exactomatic system, and a double barrel, all beating at 18,000 alternations per hour with a 52-hour power reserve.

The Strap

This model is available with a choice of 5 calfskin leather straps, selectable via the dropdown menu. Each features a pin buckle that keeps the strap firmly secured to your wrist.

The first three straps feature a smooth surface with tone-on-tone stitching. Crafted with meticulous attention to comfort, they come in black, brown, and grey - pairing effortlessly with the watch's overall aesthetic as well as your accessories and outfits.

The last two straps feature an alligator-print surface with tone-on-tone stitching. Available in brown and black, they offer the same all-day comfort while reinforcing the vintage character of this exceptional watch.

Water Resistance

With water resistance to 5 atmospheres, equivalent to 50 meters, this watch takes its first step into the world of water resistance. While not designed for bathing, swimming laps, or scuba diving, you can safely forget to take it off in the shower. That said, our team recommends keeping this timepiece dry to preserve its movement for years to come.
