CIGA Design is a Chinese watchmaking brand founded in 2016. Today, the maison presents this Ice Age U032-WU01-W5W7W watch - an elegant, feminine reinterpretation of its Challenge Watch Prize winner at the GPHG 2021, the Blue Planet. Part of the Série U collection, it evokes the magnificence and beauty of glaciers. Like the original model, it invites reflection on the fragility of our planet and raises awareness about its protection. This timeless piece is the elegant, contemporary addition that will elevate any look. With a diameter of 43 mm and a thickness of 15.50 mm, its round case stands out for its refined aesthetic, lug-free architecture, and robust construction. Crafted in white ceramic, it is perfectly suited to women's wrists. At 3 o'clock, the case houses a hermetically sealed crown with a ridged finish for easy hand adjustment. The dial is protected by a scratch-resistant, double-curved sapphire crystal that shields it from everyday impacts. Finally, the snap-on transparent case back lets you admire the movement's inner workings while ensuring a water resistance of 30 meters.

The Dial

The undisputed star of this watch is its dial. It brings a breath of fresh air and sophisticated elegance to the entire piece. The dial features a relief map of the Earth created through a micro-engraving process, revealing a domed base in glacier blue. The continents are rendered in silver, creating a visually striking, refined effect. Beyond its distinctive aesthetics, the dial showcases an original approach to timekeeping - blending poetry with time. Simulating the rotation of the Earth, a compass rose is placed at the edge of the central base, serving as the hand. It points to a rotating white disc graduated with lines and Arabic numerals, forming a minute track. The hours are readable on the second fixed white disc surrounding the assembly, marked with Arabic numeral indices separated by lines. CIGA Design places its name between 4 and 5 o'clock as its signature.

The Movement

Powering this watch is a CIGA Design in-house automatic movement. Beating at 28,800 vibrations per hour - or 4 Hz - and fitted with 30 jewels, it delivers a 40-hour power reserve with precise, reliable display of hours and minutes.

The Bracelet

This watch features a delicate ceramic bracelet in a soft white finish, lending the whole piece an air of refinement and elegance. It sits beautifully on the wrist with a comfortable, secure fit that pairs effortlessly with any outfit - day or night. It fastens with a silver push-button deployment clasp for easy, confident wear.

A spare bracelet in white is also included with this model, so you can switch up your look whenever the mood strikes. Made from fluorinated rubber (FKM), it is temperature-resistant, abrasion-resistant, and corrosion-resistant - built to keep up with your lifestyle. Easy to style and supremely comfortable to wear, it secures with a silver pin buckle for quick, reliable fastening.

The width of both bracelets is 20 mm and their length is 21 cm.

Water Resistance

This watch offers a water resistance rating of 3 atmospheres, or 30m. Designed for style, not aquatic adventures - it shines at cocktail parties and formal events, but water is not its element. It will handle rain, splashes, and the odd encounter with dishwater just fine, but that's where it stops. We strongly advise against wearing it in the shower or bath, and even more so for swimming or diving.
