The Schaumburg Watches atelier is based in Germany. Every piece from this house is crafted and finished on-site with traditional know-how. Beyond design and manufacturing, the atelier also develops its own mechanical movements, which are fitted into its watches with the mechanism left visible through the caseback. Proud of its craft, Schaumburg Watches is fully transparent about the quality of its timepieces. Let's dive into the world of the Marine - one of its iconic watches. Inspired by the marine chronometers of old seafaring vessels, this timepiece is filled with nautical references throughout. This marine watch features a brushed and polished steel case with a 42 mm diameter, topped with sapphire crystal above the dial, and finished with an engraved crown bearing the brand's logo at three o'clock. The screwed, transparent caseback reveals the beauty and craftsmanship of the master watchmaker. Note that this timepiece offers 5 ATM water resistance.
The light gray dial has been finely brushed. The outer edge features a minute track, interrupted at six o'clock by a seconds counter. This black sub-dial precisely tracks the seconds with a fine blue hand pointing to Arabic numeral markers. Back on the dial's perimeter, the minute track is completed by blue Arabic numerals marking the hours. At the center, two blue hands have distinctive shapes: the shorter one, with a rounded arrow tip, marks the hours; the longer one, evoking a wave, points to the minutes. Finally, the brand signs its work just below the twelve o'clock marker.
This mechanical watch, housing the SW-07.1 movement exclusive to Schaumburg Watch, is manually wound. It operates at a frequency of 18,000 A/h - a standard beat rate - and its Incabloc system provides excellent shock resistance.
The strap on this watch is crafted from brown leather with four small white stitched threads running along both sides of the lug. What sets this strap apart is its hand-patinated finish, applied directly by the German manufacturer, giving the watch its vintage look. A pin buckle lets you secure it perfectly to your wrist.
With a water resistance of 5 atmospheres (50 meters), this watch marks your first step into water-resistant timepieces. While it's not designed for bathing, competitive swimming, or diving, you can safely forget to take it off in the shower. That said, our experts recommend keeping it dry to protect the movement for years to come.
