The Watch

Step into history with this timepiece from Ralf Tech's iconic Académie collection. The French watchmaker pays tribute to the courage of Allied forces during the Normandy landings in June 1944. This watch embodies the values of independence and freedom at the heart of this family-owned brand, with the model name honoring the veterans of World War II. Quality and history define this collection. The case is crafted from 316L surgical-grade stainless steel with a black PVD satin coating - a material celebrated in watchmaking for its hypoallergenic properties and outstanding durability. It carries distinctly masculine proportions with a 41 mm diameter and 14.5 mm thickness. The fixed bezel is accompanied by a screw-down crown at 3 o'clock for adjusting the hands. The dial is protected by a scratch- and shock-resistant anti-reflective sapphire crystal - ideal for an active lifestyle. The model is completed by a screwed caseback engraved with the serial number, ensuring water resistance down to 200 meters.

The Dial

This dial takes its cues from Royal Air Force pilot watches, featuring Arabic numeral hour markers. Its deep black round dial puts all the key timekeeping elements in sharp relief. At the center, two baton hands coated in SuperLuminova make reading the hours and minutes effortless in the dark. A slim black seconds hand sweeps the dial with precision. A railroad minute track runs along the outer edge for accurate minute reading. The watch is signed with the brand name beneath the 12 o'clock marker and carries the brand logo at 6 o'clock.

The Movement

French watchmaker Ralf Tech has fitted this model with a Japanese automatic movement - specifically the caliber RTA003. This self-winding mechanical movement offers a power reserve of up to 44 hours, runs on 24 jewels, and beats at an oscillation frequency of 21,600 vph. All of which adds up to lasting, reliable precision.

The Strap

A military and vintage spirit runs through both straps included with the watch. The first NATO strap draws inspiration from the combat divers of the French Navy. Its khaki green color pays homage to the parachute harnesses of the past, while a vertical red stripe underscores the watch's combat DNA. The second strap, a more classic black silicone "Tropic"-style band, fastens with a tang buckle. The lug width is 22 mm.

Water Resistance

This model offers a water resistance of 20 atmospheres - that's 200 meters. This is a watch built for serious aquatic adventures! Designed for freediving, it handles high-pressure washers with ease too. Showers, baths, swimming, and freediving are all fair game. That said, for scuba diving with tanks, we recommend a timepiece with a higher water resistance rating. And remember: never operate the crown or pushers while submerged, to protect the movement's integrity.
